Most of the strangest animals on the planet live in the ocean. And the strangest of the strange dwell at the bottom of it. These creatures are all real, although some of them look like they hopped, crawled and gulped their way out of science fiction. 1. Japanese Spider Crab
These giant crabs are, perhaps unsurprisingly, sometimes referred to as Giant Spider Crabs. They live in Japanese waters of various depths, from shallow water up to 2,000+ feet deep. They can grow over forty pounds and twelve feet long.
